READFIELD (WGME) — The Maine State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating an explosion in Readfield.
Officials say the incident happened on September 27 at 846 Main Street in Readfield.
The Readfield Fire Department found that a vehicle had been blown up using Tannerite.
Investigators found that a group of people had been shooting at the Tannerite inside the vehicle.
The State Fire Office says that state law only allows up to 5 pounds of mixed Tannerite to be used and only for spot shooting or target shooting.
It also says that Tannerite can not be used to explode other objects.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials are determining whether or not there will be charges from this incident.
