WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Trump said, "I will be the last Republican president" if Democrats win Congress and the White House in the next two election cycles.
“They’ll add four more senators. They’ll add 10 more congresspeople, approximately,” he continued. “They’re going to rig the Supreme Court through just a lot of people.”
“The real number that they dream of is 23,” Trump claimed, referring to the number of Supreme Court justices that Democrats want to add to the bench. “They say 13. Who wants 13?”
Democrats have repeatedly called for an “overhaul” of the Supreme Court following Trump's appointment of three conservative justices to the bench. Former Vice President Kamala Harris has supported the proposal to expand the high court to 13 justices along with Electoral College reform.
Trump spoke at a GOP campaign rally in Ohio on Monday for Sen. Jon Husted and gubernatorial nominee Vivek Ramaswamy, as both candidates are in tight races despite Trump’s victories there in the last three presidential elections.
“The Youngstown area for decades used to vote Democrat, and then you ran for office in 2016 and flipped it red forever,” Husted said during his speech Monday. “Is that right, folks?”
The president also endorsed several other Republican candidates who were at the rally, including Rep. Max Miller, who has been accused of abusing his ex-wife and their young daughter. Miller has denied the allegations.
The congressman's former father-in-law, Ohio GOP Sen. Bernie Moreno, has said that Miller needs “serious psychological help.”
The White House reportedly told Ohio Republicans to stop pressuring Miller to drop his reelection bid. This came after an earlier report that said the White House attempted to get Miller to exit the race, which he has refused to do.
Miller is currently under investigation by the House Ethics Committee, which said that he "may have engaged in domestic violence and abuse or illegal drug use.”
