Investors and Tesla owners get a back-to-back earnings double-header this week. SpaceX drops its Q3 2026 results after market close on Tuesday, October 20, followed by Tesla’s Q3 2026 call on Wednesday, October 21. Two of the most closely watched companies in tech and energy, reporting within 24 hours of each other — it’s a dense 48 hours for anyone tracking either name.
SpaceX releases its Q3 2026 financials after the market closes Tuesday, with a live audio webcast at 3:30 p.m. CT / 4:30 p.m. ET. The call will stream on SpaceX’s investor relations site at ir.spacex.com and live on X via @SpaceX. Shareholders who submitted questions through the dedicated Q&A platform ahead of the call may hear them addressed directly by management.
This is only SpaceX’s second earnings report as a public company. The rocket and satellite business went public on June 12, 2026, listing on Nasdaq under the ticker SPCX at $135 per share. In Q2 2026 — its debut as a public company — SpaceX posted $7.8 billion in revenue alongside a net loss of $541 million. That loss reflected the capital intensity of scaling Starship and the Starlink constellation simultaneously. The Q3 print will be the first real data point on whether that spending pace is stabilizing.
Tesla’s Q3 2026 earnings call follows the next evening, with results after market close and a live Q&A webcast at 5:30 p.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. PDT. Details are posted on Tesla’s investor relations page at ir.tesla.com. Shareholders submitting questions via the Say platform had until October 20 at 4:00 p.m. EDT to get them in — that window closes the same day SpaceX reports.
Tesla has already released its Q3 delivery and production figures, so the top-line volume number is known: 486,532 vehicles delivered in the quarter, along with 13.7 GWh of energy storage deployments. The delivery number sets a baseline, but Wednesday’s call is where the margin story gets told. Analysts will be watching gross margin on automotive, the ramp trajectory for the Cybercab program, and any forward guidance on energy storage — a segment that has been growing faster than the vehicle business on a percentage basis.
The sequencing matters. SpaceX’s Tuesday call may set a tone — if management is bullish on Starship cadence and Starlink subscriber growth, that sentiment tends to carry into broader Musk-ecosystem coverage heading into Tesla’s Wednesday session. Conversely, any cautious language from SpaceX on capital requirements could sharpen analyst questions about resource allocation across Elon Musk’s portfolio of companies.
For Tesla specifically, the questions likely to dominate: how quickly is the Cybercab production line scaling, what does the energy storage backlog look like heading into Q4, and whether the company will offer any concrete guidance on Optimus deployment timelines. The 486,532 delivery figure already landed without major surprise, so the market’s attention shifts to profitability and the roadmap beyond vehicles.
Two earnings calls, 24 hours apart, covering a rocket company and an EV and energy company that share an orbit around the same CEO. Whatever gets said Tuesday afternoon will likely be the first question asked Wednesday evening. Block both afternoons.
