President Trump delivers remarks at a midterm rally in Perry, Georgia
by Jessica Warner
SAN ANTONIO – Texas’ U.S. Senate race is drawing national attention as a close contest that could help decide which party controls the Senate.
Democrat James Talarico brought his campaign to San Antonio on Saturday, holding a rally at 1902 Nightclub. A large crowd gathered inside during the afternoon event, which came with 10 days remaining until Election Day.
The stop was part of Talarico’s “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts” campaign tour. Actress Eva Longoria, known for “Desperate Housewives,” also joined him.
At the rally, Talarico focused on the cost of living, sharing stories of Texans struggling to afford rent and other basic expenses. He also criticized the influence of billionaires in politics and urged supporters to keep working through Election Day.
“We have to execute. We have to leave it all on the field. We have to win. Our fellow Texans are counting on us,” Talarico said.
His Republican opponent, Ken Paxton, also campaigned Saturday, making stops in New Braunfels and Georgetown north of Austin alongside Sen. Ted Cruz.
“If we lose Texas, we lose America. That's what we're fighting for. This is our time, our moment to draw that line in the sand that generations of patriots drew before us,” Cruz said.
Election Day is Nov. 3.
