Trump said on Sunday in Iowa that the Reflecting Pool was “finished.”
President Donald Trump's closing argument for the midterms will have a backdrop of a cleaned-out reflecting pool and the Washington Monument in the distance.
The president is set to travel to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool to offer afternoon remarks, according to the White House.
Trump said on Sunday in Iowa that the Reflecting Pool was "finished." Asked why he was going there on Monday, Trump said in part that it was "just to show how beautiful it is."
He will stand on a platform decorated with signs that say “Restoring Our Capitol” and “The Reflecting Pool.” Behind him on the lectern is a sign with an aerial image of the pool that reads: “Back, and more beautiful than ever!”
The president is then scheduled to join seven additional tele-rallies in the afternoon and into the evening, the White House said.
