Microip (7796.TW) reported consolidated October revenue of NT$12.91 million (approximately $390,000), a sharp 217.1% increase from the previous month and a 610.9% jump from a year earlier, not only setting a record for seven consecutive months of revenue growth but also marking a new single-month high for the year. The company attributed the momentum to the start of percentage-of-completion recognition for the first phase of a large AI smart community system integration project in northern Taiwan, along with the simultaneous achievement of scheduled engineering milestones on AI smart vehicle, AI software projects and ASIC design services.
Microip said the AI smart community construction project is a landmark project it secured earlier, and the formal launch of percentage-of-completion recognition for its first phase in October was the key factor behind the single-month surge. With the overall performance period running as long as 36 months, the company expects subsequent revenue to be recognized in stages according to construction progress, forming a longer-term and more stable revenue source. The project is also seen as a concrete achievement of Microip’s efforts to bring edge AI computing power technology into smart buildings and commercial vertical applications, helping validate its ability to commercialize its technology.
Beyond the smart community project, Microip’s deployments in edge AI and customized chips are also gradually bearing fruit. The company said its AI smart vehicle system has been delivered in line with customer schedules, while in AI smart manufacturing it has introduced AI vision and edge algorithm services to traditional industries, and its existing ASIC design services and development projects continue to advance, laying a foundation for future operations.
In overseas markets, Microip is targeting demand for unmanned systems and smart vehicle development, focusing on edge modules that comply with the U.S. National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and international non-red trusted supply chain standards, using high performance-per-watt to enter niche markets and seeking to expand potential business opportunities.
Microip Chairman Yang Chien-meng said the significant October revenue growth marks the company’s long-term strategy of deepening edge AI hardware-software integration and ASIC design services officially entering a strong harvest period. He noted that rigid market demand for edge computing power, smart communities and smart vehicles continues to heat up, also proving the company’s execution ability in long-term investment in next-generation technology research and development and in translating innovative AI technology into operational results.
Note: Revenue figures are the October 2026 consolidated revenue announced by Microip.
Looking ahead, the company maintains a cautiously optimistic view. According to a Grand View Research report, the global edge AI market was worth $24.9 billion in 2025, is estimated at $30 billion in 2026, and is projected to grow to $118.7 billion by 2033, with a compound annual growth rate of 21.7% from 2026 to 2033.
Analysts said demand continues to expand in applications such as industrial automation, smart manufacturing and smart vehicles, and as countries actively promote digitalization and build out AI, Internet of Things and semiconductor ecosystems, market demand for AI software design services and customized chip integration solutions is expected to rise in tandem, creating room for Microip to expand its business and win orders and helping increase the operational contribution of high-value-added business. However, the timing of project recognition and customer delivery progress remain the main variables affecting monthly revenue fluctuations, and whether monthly revenue can sustain its growth trajectory in the months ahead is worth continued observation.
