Sky Germany reports that Jürgen Klopp intends to nominate Niclas Füllkrug for Germany, unless anything extraordinary happens.
The Werder Bremen striker has scored 12 in 10 across the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal since his return. That run appears to have quietened concerns over his age, 33, previously voiced by the national coach.
The report adds he will be included in the squad and given a chance to prove himself under Klopp.
Klopp is due to unveil his DFB squad around 11:30 CET on Thursday for the last two internationals of the 2027 calendar year.
Füllkrug is expected to be joined by Younes Ebnoutalib, with the Eintracht Frankfurt forward, 23, in the frame for another nomination.
Ebnoutalib has maintained his form after his first two international outings and has six Bundesliga goals so far.
Arsenal’s Kai Havertz is also likely to be a shoo-in for Klopp’s selection, while Paris Brunner, formerly of BVB’s academy and an AS Monaco hopeful, is not expected to receive a call.
