Former President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina; Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II; and Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, will join other African leaders, policymakers and business executives in Abuja on Tuesday, November 3, to explore strategies for strengthening African economies, attracting investment, improving productivity and creating opportunities for inclusive growth.
The gathering, which is the second edition of the Oxford Global Think Tank (OGTT) Leadership Conference, will examine how leadership decisions, institutional reforms, technological innovation and access to capital can help African countries respond to economic uncertainty, changing global power dynamics and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence.
Organised under the theme, “Leadership for a Prosperous Future,” the conference will bring together prominent figures from government, finance, business, technology and civil society to identify practical policies and partnerships capable of translating the continent’s economic potential into sustainable prosperity.
A statement by the Conference Media Adviser, Chris Isiguzo, said deliberations would focus on three principal areas — resilience, innovation and dynamism — with particular attention to strengthening institutions, mobilising investment, expanding productive capacity and improving economic opportunities across the continent.
According to the organisers, the conference comes at a time African economies are confronting the combined pressures of technological disruption, demographic changes, shifting international economic relationships and the need to create sustainable employment opportunities for their growing populations.
