Chadatip Chutrakul, group CEO of Siam Piwat, has once again brought Thai leadership to international prominence through her participation in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Leaders Summit 2026, where she shared her vision for sustainable urban development and future-ready business models with global leaders from across sectors.
Recognised internationally for her pioneering contributions to place-making, urban transformation, and innovative business development, Chutrakul was invited to join world leaders at the UNGC Leaders Summit to discuss how organisations can drive meaningful economic growth while creating positive environmental and social impact.
Her participation follows another significant international recognition: The ‘Pioneers of Places’ Award at Mapic Awards 2025, one of the highest honours in the global real estate industry. Chutrakul became the first and only Thai leader, and one of a select group of international visionaries, to receive the distinguished award, which recognises individuals whose contributions have transformed cities, industries, and communities.
The inaugural ‘Pioneers of Places’ Award recipients also included Maurice Bansay, chairman and founder of Apsys; Philippe Journo, chairman and founder of La Compagnie de Phalsbourg; Alexander Otto, CEO of ECE Group; and Alain Taravella, chairman and founder of Altarea.
Speaking on the role of business in shaping a more sustainable future, Chutrakul emphasised that long-term success must be measured not only by commercial performance but also by the value created for society.
“True success goes beyond financial achievement. Business must create opportunities, enhance quality of life, and deliver lasting benefits for communities, society, and future generations,” said Chutrakul.
She highlighted the importance of collaboration and co-creation in addressing global challenges, noting that transformative achievements are possible when businesses, communities, partners, and stakeholders work together toward a shared purpose.
At the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2026, Chutrakul shared the concept behind Nextopia: Co-Creating Community for a Better World, an innovative model by Siam Piwat that integrates sustainability into every dimension of development and operations.
Nextopia, a 15,000sqm reimagined space in Siam Paragon, Bangkok, represents a new approach to urban and commercial development, demonstrating how environmental responsibility can be embedded into business strategy while generating measurable economic and social value.
The project has earned international recognition through a series of sustainability certifications and awards, reflecting its commitment to resource efficiency, environmental stewardship, and responsible operations.
Since its launch in November last year, Nextopia has delivered significant environmental outcomes, including reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, lower energy and water consumption, increased use of renewable energy, and substantial waste diversion through circular-economy practices.
These achievements position the project as a practical example of how sustainability can serve as a driver of innovation, resilience, and business growth.
The selection of Nextopia as a featured case study at the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit underscores growing international recognition of Thailand’s contribution to sustainable development and responsible business leadership.
Through her participation on the global stage, Chutrakul demonstrated how organisations can move beyond traditional business models to create platforms that generate shared value for people, communities, and the environment.
Her international recognition from both Mapic and the United Nations reflects the increasing relevance of Thai leadership in global conversations about the future of cities, sustainability, and inclusive economic growth.
As global organisations accelerate efforts to address climate change, urbanisation, and social development, Chutrakul continues to advocate for a model of growth built on innovation, collaboration, and long-term value creation.
Her message at the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2026 was clear: Sustainability is not simply a corporate responsibility but a strategic pathway to creating stronger businesses, more vibrant communities, and a better world.
