President Donald Trump fumes at corporate donors who supported Center for American Progress, after Democratic think-tank publishes report saying his federal law enforcement surges have been ineffective

President Donald Trump has lashed out at everyone from Apple and Google to T-Mobile, Toyota and Walmart for supporting a left-leaning think-tank behind an unfavorable new report on crime in American cities.
The president’s extended rant on Truth Social appeared to be triggered by a C-SPAN interview with Chandler Hall of the Center for American Progress, whose new report concludes that Trump’s decision to use the National Guard in law and enforcement missions in Washington, D.C., and other cities ultimately proved ineffective, despite costing $1.7 billion.
“Chandler Hall, representing, on Television, the foolish Center for American Lack of Progress, stated that adding the National Guard to Cities, including our now Great Again, Washington, D.C., had ‘NO impact on Crime,’” Trump fumed on his social media platform Monday.
“How crazy is that. Hall was met with furious dissent. The report is just another Radical Left SCAM, as are the people who fund this gaggle of Lunatics, including George Soros, Bill and Melinda Gates, Google, Apple, Visa, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, WellsFargo, Bank of America, Walmart, Toyota, T-Mobile, and NBC Universal.
“Foreign support includes the Embassy of Japan, the Korea Foundation, Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (Taiwan), and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates.”
Not finished there, Trump went on to threaten a lawsuit.
“The Dumocrats love it, and are against anything ‘TRUMP,’” he continued. “These people, and others like them, are so bad for our Country. Their stated course is anything to hate or demean ‘TRUMP.’ This will be met with a lawsuit, which is being drawn now.
“I am also strongly considering adding some of the contributors to this Fake Organization. Crime is way down since I took Office, and they know it. Liars, at this level, must be held accountable!”
CAP, which was founded in 2003 by Hillary Clinton’s future campaign manager John Podesta, has previously been reported as having received donations from many of the sources Trump mentioned but does not currently publish a donor list.
“The Trump administration appears to be actively targeting leaders and institutions that have challenged the president’s actions,” it explains on its website, describing the decision not to reveal the identities of its supporters as “a prudent step to protect people.”
Speaking on C-SPAN, Hall was shown a clip of Trump championing his initiative in the Oval Office Monday, insisting Washington was previously the most dangerous capital city in the world but is now much safer.
Responding, he did acknowledge that violent crime and homicides are down in D.C. but said the trend predated the president’s crackdown and that it was “quite evident” lawlessness remained a problem.
“I think it’s unfortunate that the president is continuing to still choose to boast that these deployments, these very costly interventions, are showing any result to try to convince voters that they should sign on for more of these kinds of interventions and federal overreach when, again, there’s no proof that they have any effect,” Hall said.
The “furious dissent” Trump claimed he met with primarily consisted of a Fox News appearance by Tom Homan, his border czar, who was interviewed by Laura Ingraham on The Ingraham Angle late Monday and rubbished CAP’s conclusions, a clip of which was widely shared on MAGA social media.
Ingraham said she had lived in D.C. for 30 years and called its current condition “a dream,” scoffing at the idea that Trump’s tactics had been “authoritarian.”
Homan declared that the president was the greatest of his lifetime and applauded him for keeping his promises.
He implored other cities like Chicago to accept an equivalent federal surge, calling the Windy City “a shooting gallery every weekend,” and expressed bafflement that the administration’s moves against undocumented migrants had become “a partisan issue.”
