OPERATIVES from the intelligence division of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested two ‘overstaying‘ aliens during separate operations in Bohol.
The said operations were conducted last month by the BI’s Regional Intelligence Operations Unit 7 (RIOU-7), in connection with the Panglao Municipal Police Station and Inabanga Municipal Police Station.
In a report to the office of BI-Intelligence Division chief Fortunato ‘Jun’ Manahan, Jr., those nabbed were identified as Florian Clemens Alexander Klingler, 35, a German national who was nabbed in Das-ag, Poblacion, Panglao and Dimitar Tsakov Maknev, 43, a Bulgarian, who was arrested in Poblacion, Inabanga.
“Both foreigners were found to have violated the conditions of their stay after failing to maintain valid immigration status in the country. Klingler was able to present only visa extension receipts showing his last valid stay expired in October 2025, while Maknev failed to present any immigration documents during the operation,” Manahan said.
The two operations were conducted by BI intelligence operatives following surveillance and verification efforts in coordination with local police authorities.
