On 24 October 2026, the global community marks United Nations Day, commemorating the 1945 entry into force of the UN Charter. For over eight decades, this historic document has served as the bedrock of international diplomacy, inspiring hope, advancing sustainable development, and fostering peace across borders.
As a proud and deeply integrated member of the global family, Neutral Turkmenistan reaffirms its unwavering commitment to these noble principles. Under the wise leadership of National Leader of Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan’s unique status of permanent neutrality continues to serve as a vital instrument for preventive diplomacy and conflict resolution in Central Asia and beyond.
Our strategic partnership with the UN spans crucial areas of contemporary international relations. Turkmenistan actively advances global initiatives, including the proposal to declare 2028 the Year of International Law, while contributing constructively as an elected member of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for the 2026–2028 term.
On this auspicious day, we celebrate our enduring cooperation with the United Nations. Together, through the synergy of absolute neutrality and multilateral dialogue, we look forward to building a safer, more sustainable, and harmonious world for generations to come.
