Connor Hellebuyck‘s time in Winnipeg has come to an end.
The Jets have finalized a trade to send the superstar goaltender to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Dawson Mercer, Nico Daws, Nick Bjugstad, Alexander Command and two picks, the teams announced on Friday.
Hellebuyck requested a trade out of Winnipeg over the summer, and he’s been suspended by the team since he failed to report to training camp. However, his suspension was due to end today.
The Jets now unload the disgruntled three-time Vezina winner to the Devils, and it has set the hockey world on fire.
